I am a public health educator, who started my work as a women’s health counselor and a massage therapist before getting my Masters in Public Health in 1991. My first passion was women’s health and I am coming around full circle to this work again, after spending many years also doing social-emotional learning and youth drug prevention coalition work.

I have always believed that women have an innate capacity to heal and grow and tune into our bodies, given enough information, space, support and resources. I learned this first hand when I had two uncomplicated homebirths, and continue to believe that our life cycles and body changes do not have to signal disease and the need for medical intervention.

However, when I experienced my own pelvic organ prolapse, I found myself going from one doctor to the next trying to get help and being told I was a “great” candidate for surgery, which I knew intuitively was not the best choice. I became discouraged and, like so many women, suffered in silence, hoping the problems would just go away if I ignored them long enough. I finally found Christine’s work and immediately knew I was on the right path and have since gotten the help I needed to regain control of my health, my body and my confidence.

Meeting Christine, doing her workshop and getting in-person guidance was enormously helpful. The more I learned and practised, the stronger I got and the less pain and discomfort I experienced from POP and chronic hip pain. In addition, as a lifelong public health advocate, I was infuriated with how isolated and disempowered I had felt and how difficult it had been for me to get basic helpful information to understand what was happening.

So it was a natural next step for me to become a Whole Woman Practitioner. Now I am delighted to help you get easier access to this information, so you can make educated decisions about your body and know you have more options than surgery or pessaries. I am also certified as a Psychosynthesis Life Coach and can coach you in addressing any mental/emotional blocks that might be getting in the way of taking good care of yourself. Sometimes just having the information is not enough and we have to overcome some internal barriers--those ‘voices’ that get in the way of changing habits or patterns that no longer serve us.

I look forward to talking with you; I prefer in person meetings, but am available to Skype or video talk too. I live in the Northampton area, less than an hour from the borders of Vermont, Connecticut and New York and 2 hours from Boston.
